Various species of Leafcutter Ant are featured in this film. Filmed entirely on location in the Peruvian Amazon, the ants can be seen excising portions of leaves (time-lapse) and transporting them to their subterranean home (where they will be masticated to produce a growing medium for the fungus the ants will ultimately consume as food).
